Tooth Colored Restorations

Tooth colored restorations provide the most natural looking results for a beautiful and healthy smile. They can be used for replacing tooth structure after disease or for enhancing a smile with cosmetic dentistry. Here are some of the tooth colored restorations Dr. Alexander provides.

  • All Porcelain Crowns

All porcelain dental crowns are a great choice for a front tooth needing to be crowned. All porcelain crowns eliminate the dark line that can appear at with gum line of a traditional crown. With the advances in technology today, an all porcelain crown provides both strength and beauty.

  • Porcelain Veneers (Instant Orthodontics)

Dental veneers are an excellent long-term option for many dental problems including spaces between the teeth and crooked teeth. Veneers cover the entire front of the tooth and can even be used on teeth with uneven color or texture to make them appear uniform. The new materials used for veneers do not stain, so they provide beautiful, long lasting results. Dr. Alexander uses thin veneers with minimal prep when possible, giving you a more natural looking smile.

  • Dental Bonding

Bonding offers a fairly inexpensive way to correct tooth spacing or gaps between the teeth. Bonding does have some drawbacks such as its poor color stability. So depending on your eating habits, it will generally start to discolor around 2-4 years after placement and need to be replaced if the color difference is enough to bother you. Dental bonding is a great choice for teens or those needing a temporary solution.

  • Tooth Colored Fillings

White or tooth colored fillings used today are strong and provide an excellent alternative to the mercury containing silver (amalgam) fillings used previously. With tooth colored fillings you do not ever have to worry about mercury exposure or unsightly dark areas on the teeth from amalgam fillings. Tooth colored fillings also eliminate the common problem of a tooth cracking as a result of the mercury expansion in silver fillings. We are proud to be a mercury free practice!
